Bio

Ted Kittila is the Managing Partner of Halloran Farkas + Kittila LLP, and is resident in the Wilmington, Delaware office of the firm.  Mr. Kittila has served as lead counsel on a number of complex corporate and commercial disputes, including expedited litigation in the Delaware Court of Chancery (where Mr. Kittila clerked from 2000 to 2001), litigation involving Delaware limited liability companies and contract interpretation in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, and litigation in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court both in Delaware and nationally involving Delaware-related entities.  Mr. Kittila routinely practices in courts in other jurisdictions throughout the U.S.

As former Chair of the International Section of the Delaware State Bar Association, Mr. Kittila has spoken on legal ethics in international practice and at various CLE seminars on the challenges facing the local practitioner.  Mr. Kittila's practice has routinely included international clients, including the Government of Nevis with respect to matters in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware involving the closure of Nevis' largest employer.

Mr. Kittila frequently counsels international and domestic clients on Delaware law and litigation practice, procedure, and strategy, including advising hedge funds on current developments in M&A litigation.  Mr. Kittila has provided expert testimony on Delaware law for use in both domestic and international litigation.

In August 2014, Mr. Kittila received the nomination of the Delaware GOP to be the Republican Candidate for Delaware Attorney General, ultimately finishing second in a five-way race.

An experienced litigator, Mr. Kittila has appeared in every court of the State of Delaware and has handled multiple issues of first impression involving Delaware’s corporate and commercial laws.  For example, Mr. Kittila represented a Silicon Valley client with respect to the interpretation of a novel corporate ratification statute under Delaware law.  See Nguyen v. View, Inc., 2017 WL 2439074 (Del. Ch. June 6, 2017), rehear’g denied, 2017 WL 3169051 (Del. Ch. July 26, 2017). Additionally, Mr. Kittila represented a Receiver of a Delaware corporation in obtaining assistance in enforcing Delaware rulings in the People's Republic of China.  See Deutsch v. With over two decades of experience as a trial attorney, Mr. Kittila has recently been appointed as Adjunct Faculty at the Rutgers Law School teaching Trial Advocacy.  Additionally, Mr. Kittila also teaches trial practice at continuing legal education programs through the National Institute for Trial Advocacy.  

Before helping to found HFK Law, Mr. Kittila was the founder and Managing Member of Greenhill Law Group, LLC, in Wilmington, Delaware.  Prior to Greenhill Law, Mr. Kittila was a shareholder at a Wilmington firm.  Mr. Kittila also practiced law in Manhattan at Weil, Gotshal & Manges and Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker.‍
