John (“Jack”) Harris, Esq. has joined the Delaware office of HFK as a Partner in the Litigation Group. He has nearly 25 years of experience counseling and litigating on behalf of clients in complex corporate and commercial disputes in the state and federal courts in Delaware, particularly the Court of Chancery. Over his career, Jack has represented both individual and institutional clients, including several past and present Fortune 500 companies, in connection with a wide array of complex matters, involving M&A litigation, corporate governance, alternative entities, fiduciary duties, restrictive covenants, business torts, among others. A seasoned trial lawyer, Jack has acted as lead trial counsel in over a dozen cases. Jack has also been recognized as one of the “Best Lawyers in America” for 2024.

Managing and Founding Partner Ted Kittila noted regarding the addition of Jack, “We are thrilled to have Jack on board with us. I have worked with Jack for a number of years, and our practices have increasingly meshed together over time. Jack has been my “go-to” Delaware lawyer outside of HFK on a number of complex issues, and having him in our firm is the result of a long- developed collegial working relationship.”

Before joining HFK, Jack was the co-founding partner of the former Delaware firm Berger Harris LLP. Prior to that, Jack was a partner of the Global 100 law firm, Reed Smith LLP. After law school, Jack served in consecutive judicial clerkships, first with the Honorable George L. Seltzer of the New Jersey Superior Court and the following year with the Honorable William L. Witham, Jr. of the Superior Court of the State of Delaware.

Founding HFK Partner Mike Halloran stated, “We continue to attract top talent to HFK. This is a testament to our firm culture and excellence in practice. Jack is a great addition to our Delaware team and our firm as a whole."
