Peter Farkas is a Partner in the firm’s Washington, D.C. offices. Mr. Farkas is an experienced intellectual property and antitrust litigator and counselor with experience in Courts both in the District of Columbia and throughout the U.S. Mr. Farkas' work in the intellectual property arena covers litigation, opinion work, counseling, and due diligence as part of corporate deals, with notable experience in the pharmaceutical, electronics, software, chemical, and mechanical technologies industries. Mr. Farkas has handled representations of the clients before the U.S. Supreme Court and the International Trade Commission, and regularly counsels clients in computer and Internet law and licensing.
Mr. Farkas' practice includes work in M&A Risk Arbitrage, providing clients with services in complex litigation prediction. Work in this area allows clients to forecast potential outcomes in complex litigation, including big pharma versus generics, biotechnology, medical devises, electronics and telecommunications, antitrust investigations and enforcement actions, securities class actions, and administrative proceedings before the FDA, FTC, and ITC. Clients have included mutual fund managers, hedge fund managers, national brokerage firms, financial letters, and CEOs and in-house counsel.
Mr. Farkas served as a former trial attorney with the Department of Justice's Antitrust Division before becoming a partner at Graham & James in D.C. (where he headed the IP Group in the D.C. office). Before starting HFK in 2017, Mr. Farkas was the co-founder of a D.C. litigation boutique.
